HOW IT WORKS:
We can insure cats and dogs 6 weeks of age and older, although the maximum age at which your pet can be added is 8 years old for dogs and 10 for cats.
Pre-existing conditions are excluded, so it is best to insure your pet at an early age.
Plan Options
Simply choose a maximum annual benefit of $2,500 or $5,000, both with a $100 deductible and 10% coinsurance.
Waiting Period
There is a 14-day waiting period after the effective date during which we will not cover any illness of your pet. Coverage for injuries will begin 24 hours after the effective date.
Treatment
Take your ill or injured pet to the licensed veterinarian of your choice. Obtain an invoice for any treatment or medication showing the type and nature of treatment, fees charged, and the reason for treatment.
Reimbursement
Provide us with the original invoices within 90 days of the first treatment. Pekin Insurance will then process the claim and reimburse you the covered portion of the bill.
Note:
You must arrange for your pet to be kept vaccinated at your expense against the following:
Dogs: Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, Parvovirus, Bordetella, and Parainfluenza.
Cats: Rabies and FVRCP
